Winston Reid Brentford bound

Winston Reid has joined Brentford FC on loan from West Ham United. After a stint with Sporting KC and a MLS play off appearance, Winston returned to England before the move to Brentford.

Brentford sit third in the Championship, six points behind leaders Norwhich City with a game in hand - the All Whites skipper will have the change to play some extremely competitive, high stakes football for the rest of the season in the push for promotion.

On the move

Sarpreet Singh has returned to Bayern Munich from a loan spell with FC Nürnberg early, after making six starting appearances with the second division club. Terminating the loan spell was agreed by all parties, with Nürnberg's current style of play making the attacking midfielder surplus to requirements.

Sarpreet will likely re-join Bayern's reserve team, for whom he's scored 14 goals, while pushing for a first team place in the Bundesliga.

Hannah Wilksonson has signed with MSV Duisburg from Swedish club Djurgården. Hannah is following in the footsteps of Ferns team mates and ex-Duisburg players Emma Rolsten and Meikayla Moore, and will be looking to make her mark in the top tier women's Bundesliga when the season re-starts in early Feburary.

Michael McGlinchey has left Queen's Park FC at the end of his short term contact after turning out six times for the Scottish Division Two outfit.

On the scoresheet

Chris Wood's fourth goal of the season was Burnley's winner in the 3-2 victory over Aston Villa - it was his 39th Premier League goal, and he was delighted to help his team grab the three points, saying:

“It was a nice finish, if I say so, but it took an age to go in. It went very slowly and the boys on the side said it took an age to walk itself into the back of the net, but I was just thankful it went in and it’s another three points, which was the best thing for us."

“It was nice that I could contribute, not just trying to work hard and fight and hold the ball up but actually get on the scoresheet,” said Chris.

On the Twitter

Byes and spots on the bench have limited many of the Ferns' involvement in English women's football in recent weeks - but that's not stopped the team sharing some top content on Twitter.com.
