Our Story
Founded in 1891, New Zealand Football has a long and proud history. We became affiliated with FIFA in 1948 and were a founding member of the Oceania Football Confederation in 1966, alongside Australia, Fiji and Papua New Guinea.
Aotearoa New Zealand has qualified for the men's FIFA World Cup three times, in 1982, 2010, and 2026, and has proudly represented at six FIFA Women’s World Cups—1991, 2007, 2011, 2015, 2019 and 2023.
New Zealand Football works in collaboration with it's six member federations to deliver football and futsal in our communities nationwide.
