FIFA World Cup 2026™ Ticketing FAQ

I purchased tickets through FIFA’s public ballot sales. Is my experience different from tickets purchased through New Zealand Football?

Yes. FIFA operates different ticketing programmes for:

  • Public ballot/general public sales
  • Participating Member Association (PMA) allocations (including New Zealand Football supporter allocations)
  • Group Sales allocations (TAG)

While all tickets are official FIFA World Cup 2026™ tickets, some servicing features and processes may differ depending on how the tickets were purchased.

Are all tickets official FIFA tickets?

Yes. Whether purchased through FIFA public sales, New Zealand Football supporter allocations, or FIFA Group Sales, all tickets are official FIFA World Cup 2026™ tickets issued through FIFA authorised channels.

Will all tickets use the FIFA World Cup 2026™ Mobile Tickets App?

Yes. FIFA has confirmed that tickets will be managed through the official FIFA World Cup 2026™ Mobile Tickets App.

Further information on the app and ticket access process will be shared by FIFA closer to the tournament.

When will tickets appear in the app?

Ticket distribution will occur progressively closer to the tournament.

FIFA has not yet confirmed exact timing for when tickets will appear in the app for either public ballot purchasers or New Zealand Football allocation holders.

Can I transfer my tickets to friends or family?

Yes. FIFA’s mobile ticketing system is expected to include a ticket transfer and guest management function within the app.

However:

  • Public ballot tickets may have access to FIFA’s broader ticket transfer and resale functionality.
  • New Zealand Football supporter/group allocation tickets may have different transfer or resale conditions.

Can I resell my tickets through FIFA’s resale platform?

This depends on how your tickets were purchased:

FIFA Public Ballot Purchasers

Tickets purchased directly through FIFA public sales phases may be eligible for FIFA’s official resale platform, subject to FIFA’s resale rules and timelines.

New Zealand Football Purchasers (including Entry Tier)

Tickets distributed through New Zealand Football supporter or group allocations are generally not eligible for FIFA’s public resale marketplace.

If you can no longer attend, please contact New Zealand Football directly to discuss available options.

Why are some tickets not eligible for public resale?

FIFA applies different terms to public sale tickets and Group Sales/PMA allocation tickets.

Can I change the email address associated with my tickets?

Potentially, yes.

For security reasons, any request to update ticketing details must come from the original purchaser or the email address linked to the ticketing account.

Availability of this option may depend on FIFA’s ticketing system and ticket status at the time of request.

Will the name on the ticket matter?

Yes. FIFA may conduct ID checks at stadium entry.

Ticket holders should ensure that the person attending matches the assigned ticket details within the FIFA ticketing app.

Can I use screenshots of my tickets to enter the stadium?

No. FIFA mobile tickets are expected to function dynamically through the official app, and screenshots or static images may not provide stadium access.

What happens if match details or seat locations change?

FIFA reserves the right to adjust seat allocations, stadium operations, and certain match-related details where required for operational, security, or tournament reasons.
