The new English Premier League season is now just a few days away and Spark Sport is picking up responsibility for bringing the competition to New Zealand football fans.
Over the next year, New Zealand Football will be showcasing Spark Sport’s extensive Premier League coverage with information and updates to its membership base. Plus, Spark Sport will take a place on the popular Small Whites poster and Player of the Day certificates.
New Zealand Football Commercial Director Carl Jackson, who will be glued to the action as a diehard Tottenham Hotspur fan, is delighted to be teaming up with Spark Sport to support awareness of the coverage.
“One of our primary goals is for more New Zealanders to fall in love with football and high-interest competitions like the Premier League play a big role in that,” he says.
“We hope even more Kiwis will be exposed to their heroes playing in the Premier League, who include our very own Chris Wood and Winston Reid.”
Head of Spark Sport Jeff Latch says it is a natural fit for Spark Sport to partner with New Zealand Football.
“As the home of the English Premier League in New Zealand, Spark wanted to play a role not just in bringing more international games to Kiwis but in supporting the grassroots of the game here in New Zealand.”
When the season kicks off on 10 August (NZT), Spark Sport will be the home of every single match for New Zealand-based fans of the most-watched sports league in the world.
Spark Sport subscribers will be treated to an unprecedented level of coverage, with all 380 matches set to be broadcast on the platform, both live and on demand.
A range of highlights and magazine-style programmes will also be available, delivering the most comprehensive coverage ever available to New Zealanders
It should be a season to remember as defending champions Manchester City battle it out with the likes of Liverpool, Chelsea, Tottenham Hotspur, Arsenal and Manchester United for the 2019/20 title.
Wood will meanwhile look to finish as Burnley’s top scorer again while Reid aims to help West Ham United improve on last season’s mid-table finish.
Spark Sport will ensure you miss out on none of the exploits of the Kiwi pair or any other action from across the league.
