New Zealand Football has confirmed the NZF eTrophy 2025, the domestic competition for Kiwis to qualify for Aotearoa New Zealand’s eSports National Team ahead of the upcoming FIFAe World Cup 2025 qualifying cycle later this year.
The NZF eTrophy will be played across three formats, mirroring those used at the FIFAe World Cup:
The best players from the tournament will be selected to represent Aotearoa New Zealand in the eSports National Team.
New Zealand has recently been confirmed as one of more than 90 countries set to take part in the FIFAe World Cup 2025, the global showcase of the best eSports players.
To reach the FIFAe World Cup, nations must first qualify through the online FIFAe World Cup Qualifiers, with the final tournament set to take place from 10 December 2025 in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.
Registrations for the NZF eTrophy open on Friday 15 August, with the competitions taking place on the following dates:
