When? Saturday 21 November, 2 pm kick off

Where? Porritt Stadium, Hamilton

What happened last time the two sides met? Last season Auckland City FC walked away with two wins from two encounters, demolishing Wanderers 5-0 at Cambridge’s John Kerkhof Park. Their Kiwitea Street meeting was a little closer, with the Aucklanders taking out a 3-1 win.

What they say

Jose Figueira, Auckland City FC head coach
“Another tough challenge coming up. Any away game is, is difficult, and Hamilton Wanderers had a fantastic result on the weekend and a really strong performance. Having watched the games and having only met them recently in pre-season a couple of weeks back where they got the up on us, no doubt they will be feeling confident that they can maintain a good start to the season.

“Traditionally they've always been a team that is really dangerous on the transition, with the likes of Derek [Tieku] and Tommy [Semmy] up front. I think this year, like that game in pre-season, and watching them last week with a couple of new additions and with this being a second year for Kale [Herbert], they're looking really well-organized there. And they’re not only a counter-attacking team, they're able to play through the lines as well - they're certainly a team that's evolving nicely. So we've got to be right at the top of our game if we want to carry on our own start to the season.”
