What they say

Maia Vink, Capital Football head coach: “We’re really excited to welcome Southern United to our first home match this weekend. Last week after a bit of a slow start, we earnt our way back into the match and were able to take a point away. This weekend we want to start a bit stronger, so we'll look to possess the ball, play quickly, and where we can be a bit more defensively sound this week as well.

There are big shoes to fill after a positive second half last week [against Northern Lights], but we're ready to go and look forward to the game.”

Ignacio Sande, Southern United head coach: We are working on our identity as a squad, after four to five players left last year, and gaining new players this season it is important we play well as a team. The girls all train so well, which makes it hard to select a game day squad; the first couple of games are even harder as we need to see them in action on the pitch to help choose."
