Quotes

Nic Downes: “It’s really tight at the top, there’s no room for error from our side. We need to go down there and come home with the three points. Southern are having a great season, they caused us problems here when they tried to win the ball from us, they disrupted our build-up. They’re very good on transition as well as being the best team in the league on set pieces.”

Coach: Shane Verma

Quotes

Barry Scullion: “Northern are looking like the team to beat, they seem to be going from strength-to-strength each week and they’ve got a fantastic squad. When we met them earlier in the campaign we struggled, so when we get them at home we need to make it difficult and hopefully cause an upset. I think they’ll enjoy playing on a quality surface.”

Shane Verma: “We’re getting better and that’s the main thing. There’s three or four teams gunning for the top two spots so it’s going to be tight, we just need to take it one game at a time right now. We’ve had a number of injuries that have ruled some girls out for the season but we’re very lucky to have a lot of depth in our federation – other players have stepped in and done a good job for us.”
