Sam Wilkinson (Phoenix assistant coach): “We were disappointed with aspects of our play last week and ultimately it came down to some poor finishing from us and a few lapses in concentration at the other end. We’ve got some young players who are experiencing this for the first time but they’ve got to learn very quickly that at this level the concentration levels required defensively are high. And at times their quality in possession has to lift a little bit as well. Things they could maybe get away with in age-group football they can’t in our top league. So they need to get up to speed quickly and learn some of those lessons.”

I thought we dominated most of the second half but ultimately a few sloppy goals early in the game killed us. If we were a little bit more clinical on the day then it would have been a different scoreline altogether. So there were lots of positives but obviously we’ve got to make sure we pick up some points so that will be the focus this week.”
