There will be 14 New Zealand Football Advanced Coaching courses for those wanting to take their skills to the next level, including the return of an OFC / NZF A Licence.

“We are delighted to offer such a comprehensive programme that has been tailored to meet the needs of coaches in the country.  We aim to provide coaches with an enjoyable, challenging, learner centred environment where they learn by doing, “ he said.

“The NZF advanced coach education pathway provides an opportunity for coaches to reflect on their current practice and build on existing football knowledge.  It looks at many different aspects of coaching, including analysing football, designing sessions, building a philosophy and player development programmes.”

The programme kicks off with the OFC / NZF A Licence starting and the end of January in Auckland.  Recent coaches attending the course have gone onto operate at the highest levels of the game including the A League and W League in Australia.

Graduates include notable coaches in New Zealand, including the recently appointed All Whites coach Danny Hay, Auckland City Head Coach Jose Figueira and Team Wellington’s Scott Hales.

NZF Interim Technical Director Andy Boyens encouraged those coaches wanting to experience a challenging and rewarding environment to get registered to further their development.

“The OFC / NZF A Licence is the pinnacle of our Coach Education pathway in New Zealand and is a course that we are very proud to offer,” he said.  “It is always an enjoyable environment to be around, with ambitious coaches, working at the highest level of the game in Oceania, sharing challenges and best practice.”
