The latest edition of one of New Zealand's oldest and most prestigious sporting competitions is set to kick off across the country on Anzac Day when the preliminary round of the ISPS Handa Chatham Cup begins.

The action gets underway on Wednesday 25 April with 17 matches while the premilinary round will be completed on Saturday 28 April with a further nine encounters. 

This year marks the 91st edition of the Chatham Cup and Onehunga Sports, who will not enter the fray until later in the competition, are the defending champions after claiming a maiden title last season.

The final of the ISPS Handa Chatham Cup will be played at QBE Stadium in Auckland on September 9.
