Vacancy – Mainland Football Competitions Manager


With our Competitions Manager hanging up his boots after 13 years' service, Mainland Football are looking for a new team member to help build on the success and growth the game is experiencing in our federation. You could be an apprentice looking for your first challenge or a pro with a few years under their belt in the sport industry looking for that next challenge. You will be a team player and have an appetite for developing close working relationships with our many stakeholders. Reporting to the CEO, this role will provide opportunity for someone who wishes to develop their career.

About the Role

New Zealand Football’s objective of ‘more people playing and loving football’ is a key driver for Mainland Football. Our club network is critical in the delivery of the game to the wider football community. It is our club network that will help achieve our growth strategies in the targeted areas of youth and female football and the fastest growing sport in the country, futsal.

This role will act as a lead in developing and managing our critical competition framework across the game. With the introduction of a new IT strategy from New Zealand Football, this year will see the introduction of a new membership reporting system which promises to change the way we do things. This role will help lead and develop this system within the federation and our clubs. The role will also play a key part in the ongoing development of field and facility plans for football and futsal in Christchurch. The role will provide support to the federation and clubs to help achieve our objectives as outlined in the New Zealand Football Strategic Plan and Mainland Football Business Plan.

About Us

Mainland Football is one of the seven federations of New Zealand Football and is responsible for the delivery of both football and futsal to the community. Both forms of the game continue to experience very good growth.

We are based centrally in Christchurch and have district offices located in Nelson and Marlborough.

We work closely with our club network across the federation to ensure quality delivery to all our customers from grass roots through to senior football.
