Ford Futsal Superleague Finals Series To Be Held At Christchurch’s World Class Parakiore

For the first time this century, the biggest matches of New Zealand’s domestic futsal competition, the Ford Futsal Superleague, will be played in the South Island.

New Zealand Football has confirmed the Ford Futsal Superleague Finals Series will be played at Parakiore Recreation and Sports Centre, Christchurch at the end of March.

Since futsal’s emergence in New Zealand in the 1990’s, rarely have matches of this magnitude been played in Te Waipounamu/South Island.

Parakiore Recreation and Sports Centre opened in December 2025 with its world class $500 million facilities that include a 50-metre competition pool, a dive pool, five hydroslides, a large recreational pool and a sensory aqua centre, as well as nine courts and a High Performance Sport New Zealand training base.

It’s fitting that the country’s newest and biggest indoor sport and aquatic centre will be the venue for the Women’s and Men’s Semi Finals on Saturday 28th and the following two Grand Finals on Sunday 29th March.

Both Finals Series look on track to also include the competition’s two Cantabrian sides, with Canterbury United Pride currently top of the Women’s table, three points clear of Papakura City FC x NRF on 18 points.

Meanwhile Canterbury United Dragons are second on the Men’s table with 15 points, just one point behind leaders, Auckland City FC.

Parakiore will also host the Third and Fourth placed play-offs on the same Sunday before the Men’s and Women’s Grand Finals.
