Papakura City x NRF and Palmerston North Marist begin their Ford Futsal SuperLeague title defence this Saturday as New Zealand’s longest ever season gets underway.

This year there’ll be 92 games spread across 14 rounds and the 2026 Ford Futsal SuperLeague Finals Series, more closely aligning with professional futsal environments overseas.

The men’s and women’s Ford Futsal SuperLeague Finals will be played on over the weekend of 28-29 March.

The Ford Futsal SuperLeague 2026 follows promising growth in recent years, after the Futsal Whites and Futsal Ferns maiden FIFA Futsal World Cup appearances in 2024 and 2025.

The 2026 men’s Ford Futsal SuperLeague will consist of: Auckland City FC x NRF, Bay of Plenty Surge, Capital Futsal, Canterbury United Futsal Dragons, Hawke’s Bay Futsal, Palmerston North Marist, and Waikato Rapids.

The 2026 women’s Ford Futsal SuperLeague will consist of: Bay of Plenty Surge, Capital
Futsal, Canterbury United Futsal Pride, Hawke’s Bay Futsal, Palmerston North Marist, Papakura City x NRF, and Waikato Rapids.

The season opener will be held at Parakiore Recreation and Sports Centre
in Christchurch when men’s sides Canterbury United Dragons host Auckland City FC x NRF at midday.

Parakiore Recreation and Sports Centre opened last month, and this weekend will be the first time futsal is played there.

Following that match at the same venue, the women’s season begins as Papakura City x NRF begin their title defence against hosts Canterbury United Pride.

Men’s defending champions Palmerston North Marist Football Club open their account against the Bay of Plenty Surge at Central Energy Trust Arena, Palmerston North.

The women’s Palmerston North Marist Football Club and the Bay of Plenty Surge also face off at Central Energy Trust Arena.

Capital Futsal and Hawkes Bay Futsal’s men’s and women’s teams complete Saturday’s first round action at Ākau Tangi Sports Centre in Wellington.

Both Waikato Rapids sides begin their campaign with a bye and have their first games next week against Capital Futsal the following weekend on 24 January at home in Hamilton.

Select matches of the 2026 Ford Futsal SuperLeague will be broadcast live and free on FIFA+.
