On Saturday 29 November from 6:00PM, Auckland United and Eastern Suburbs will meet in the Grand Final at Keith Hay Park, with the national title on the line.
Ben Bate’s side finished top of the table with 22 points, thanks to seven wins, one draw (against Eastern Suburbs) and one defeat. The Lilywhites weren’t far behind, collecting 20 points from six wins, two draws and one loss.
The hosts, Auckland United, will be looking to defend the title they won in 2023 and 2024 to complete a remarkable three-peat — something not achieved since Canterbury United Pride in 2020.
The two clubs have already met five times this year with three victories for Auckland United, one for Eastern Suburbs and a 1-1 draw in the second round of the Championship Phase.
The stats during the competition also show how evenly matched they are. Auckland United scored 31 goals during the Championship Phase and conceded just three. Eastern Suburbs scored 30 and conceded six. Both teams also share a similar spread of goalscorers. For Eastern Suburbs, Ruby Nathan, Victoria Neuefeind and Tayla O’Brien lead the way with five goals each and for Auckland United, Chloe Knott, Kiara Bercelli and Zoe Benson each have four.
Everything points to a tightly contested final between the league’s two standout teams and both will leave it all on the pitch in the fight for national glory.
