Auckland United have claimed their second consecutive OFC Women’s Champions League title after a hard-fought 1-0 win over Hekari Women’s FC in the final, completing the tournament unbeaten.

Despite the heat in Tahiti, the New Zealand side put on a composed and high-quality performance to lift the trophy once again. They conceded just two goals throughout the entire competition and topped Group B with three dominant wins: 11-0 over AS Pirae, 2-1 against Hekari Women’s FC, and another 11-0 result against PanSa.

Securing first place in their group, the 2024 champions then faced Henderson Eels FC - runners-up from Group A - in the semi-finals. Auckland were in fine form once again, cruising to a 6-1 victory to book their spot in the final.

In the other semi-final, Hekari Women’s FC defeated Ba Women FC 6-1, setting up a highly anticipated rematch with Auckland United in the final.

Just as they had in the group stage, Hekari proved to be tough opponents and pushed Auckland all the way. But a 26th-minute strike from Dani Canham was enough to seal the win and secure the title for the Kiwi side for a second year running.

Canham was named Player of the Match for her decisive performance, while three of her teammates also took home individual honours. Hannah Mitchell won the Golden Glove for best goalkeeper, Zoe Benson claimed the Golden Boot as the tournament’s top scorer, and Saskia Vosper was awarded the Golden Ball as the best player of the tournament.

Congratulations to Auckland United - champions once again and proudly flying the New Zealand flag on the international stage!
