Men’s U-20 Team to Warm Up for FIFA U-20 World Cup with Two-Match Series Against Hosts Chile This June

The New Zealand Men’s U-20 team will prepare for September’s FIFA U-20 World Cup with a two-match series against tournament hosts Chile in the Santiago Metropolitan Region this June.

The first match will be played on Thursday 5 June NZT (Wednesday 4 June local time) at Complejo Deportivo Quilín.

The second match will take place on Sunday 8 June NZT (Saturday 7 June local time) at Estadio Bicentenario de La Florida.

Both games will kick off at 7:30am NZT (3:30pm local time).

New Zealand Men’s U-20 head coach Chris Greenacre said:

“Leading into the FIFA U-20 World Cup, it’s important we spend as much time together as a team as possible, so this series against a quality side is a really good opportunity for us.

“It’s also a great chance to play in the host country ahead of the tournament, so that come September we have some experience of the conditions and can hit the ground running as soon as we arrive.

“This is an exciting group of players, so I’m looking forward to getting the team together and testing ourselves against a side and style of play we haven’t faced before.”
