Female-only C-Licence course registrations open

If you’re an aspiring female coach keen to take your first step on the advanced coaching pathway in 2023, get in quick to register for February’s female-only OFC C Licence course in Wellington.

Having a female-only C Licence course is about “building the base and then having the right support structures in place to help our coaches progress through their coaching journey,” says New Zealand Football women’s development manager Annalie Longo.

“One of New Zealand Football’s strategic priorities is about strengthening capability and leadership across women’s football. Part of this is building club capability and to be able to have girls only talent development environments. Ensuring there are opportunities for female coaches to be appropriately supported to be part of that environment is crucial for building and developing the game, especially with a FIFA Women’s World Cup™ in our backyard next year and a real desire to get more female coaches into the game,” she says.

To enable applicants from as wide a range of backgrounds as possible, New Zealand Football will cover travel and accommodation costs.

“Our priority is removing as many barriers to entry as possible,” says Longo.

“By having a female-only course in what is traditionally a male-dominated space, we’re enabling participants who might not be comfortable in a course that’s mostly male.

Applicants are invited from school, club and/or federation backgrounds.

All applicants are required to submit their coaching CV as well as an endorsement from their school, club or federation.
