Rebekah Stott has signed for Brighton & Hove Albion in the FA Women's Super League this year.

She's the latest in a growing list of Football Ferns playing in England, that includes Ria Percival at Spurs, Erin Nayler at Reading and Meikayla Moore at second-tier Liverpool.

Papamoa-born Stott leaves the W-League with two titles, scoring twice in the just-completed 19/20 season from the heart of the Melbourne City FC defence that conceded just five goals, and took the title after a dominant season.

B&HA head coach Hope Powell said, “We’re delighted to bring Rebekah to the club. She has vast experience, both internationally and at club level, and was keen to come to England and make her mark in the WSL. She was born in a seaside town in New Zealand so I’m sure she will enjoy being in Brighton.

“She is a top-class defender who will give us more competition for places in that area of the squad. She arrived at the start of the week and has already fitted in really well with the rest of the group and we hope she will enjoy her football with us and help us progress.”

The Seagulls finished ninth in the 19/20 season and begin their campaign at home to Birmingham City at 1am Monday morning NZ time.
