Everyone involved with the beautiful game in New Zealand now has a new go-to hub to support their footballing journey after the launch of a refreshed Fit4Football website.
Fit4Football is a player welfare programme driven by New Zealand Football in collaboration with ACC SportSmart, the aim of which is to help players stay injury-free and performing to the best of their ability.
The new-look website houses a wide range of information related to keeping players on the field and enjoying their football, such as instructional videos on the 11+ Warm Up and important details on nutrition, concussion, recovery, injury prevention and injury management.
“The new Fit4Football website is a one-stop shop for players, coaches, parents and administrators,” says Megan Crockett, National Player Welfare Manager for New Zealand Football.
“It’s worthwhile to visit the website regularly as it will be forever evolving. The science of sport is constantly changing and we need to move with it to be up-to-date and relevant to our football communities and the game itself,” she adds.
“The new site aims to educate and inform around our key Fit4Football principles and support our players, parents and coaches throughout their football life-cycle. We want it to be a place that helps and supports our football communities.”
The Fit4Football programme works towards building a more balanced football journey where player wellbeing is the central focus. Education and support around this is therefore vital to ensure a holistic and enjoyable sporting experience is provided.
With that ethos at the forefront of Fit4Football, New Zealand Football is hugely supportive of Sport NZ’s new ‘Keep Up With the Play’ campaign and the Aktive Good Sports initiative – both of which endorse similar messaging to the Fit4Football programme.
“As the football season is soon to kick off a good time to get familiar with the new website is now,” Crockett says.
