New Zealand Football is pleased to announce 28 players who will attend a New Zealand A Women’s Training Camp this week from 17 to 20 January in Auckland.

With the Football Ferns competing in the FIFA Women’s World Cup in France in June, the camp will offer coach Tom Sermanni the chance to bring the domestic-based players together and also see some of the younger players on the training ground.

Three members of the New Zealand U-17 team, who made history at the FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup in Uruguay last year when they claimed the bronze medal, will be in attendance. They are Anna Leat, who has three senior national caps to her name, Gabi Rennie and Maggie Jenkins.

There are eight other players from the NZ U-20 women’s side that went to the FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup in France in 2018, who did not advance from their group but made headlines when they drew with the tournament hosts.

There will be five senior Football Ferns in attendance in Katie Bowen, Annalie Longo, Sarah Gregorius, Anna Green and Katie Duncan. Duncan, the experienced midfielder who has played 119 'A' internationals for New Zealand, has returned from international retirement to be available for selection.

The Football Ferns have a busy international calendar coming up in 2019. The World No 19 will compete in the inaugural Cup of Nations against fellow FIFA Women’s World Cup contestants Australia, Argentina and Korea Republic from 28 February to 6 March in Australia. They will also take on the USA in St Louis in May.

The Football Ferns have been drawn in Group E for the FIFA Women’s World Cup, in which they will face Canada, Cameroon and the Netherlands.
