All Whites fixtures against DR Congo and Greece in October and November confirmed

The All Whites have added Democratic Republic of the Congo (FIFA rank 69) and Greece (FIFA rank 50) as their final two opponents for 2023.

In the October FIFA window, Darren Bazeley’s side will face DR Congo on 13 October at 6pm [14 October at 5am NZT] at Estadio Nueva Condomina, Murcia, Spain.

In the November FIFA window, the team will face Greece on 17 November at 7pm (KO TBC) [18 November at 6am NZT] at OPAP Arena, Athens, Greece.

The confirmation of the two games sees the team play the maximum number of international matches possible in 2023, with two fixtures in every FIFA window excluding September when the OFC Men’s Olympic Qualifier was held.

“It is brilliant to announce these games and confirm our full list of fixtures for the rest of 2023” says head coach Darren Bazeley.

“To continue to grow as a team we need to consistently be testing ourselves against strong opponents on a regular basis and these games, along with the Australia and Republic of Ireland matches already announced, do exactly that.

“We have changed as a team and as an organisation so playing in every possible FIFA window is the new standard, not just this year but going forward.

“With Olympic qualification confirmed last weekend, some great international friendlies already lined up and FIFA World Cup qualification starting, 2024 is already looking really exciting and I know the team can’t wait to get started.”
