Christchurch United result overturned after fielding ineligible player in final game of the season


Christchurch United’s final game of the season, a 4-1 win over Cashmere Technical, will have the result overturned after it emerged that they fielded an ineligible player. 

A player not on the official team sheet was substituted on by Christchurch United during the second half of the game. 

Following the match, the club admitted and acknowledged the mistake. 

The result will now be overturned and recorded as a 0-3 victory to Cashmere Technical in accordance with the National League regulations.

Cashmere Technical will now end the season with 12 points in 7th place.

Christchurch United will end the season with 5 points in 9th place.
