Tertiary students from around Aotearoa New Zealand will pivot from their books to the court as the National Tertiary Futsal Championships get underway this Thursday, September 1st.

Featuring some of the best up and coming futsal talent across Aotearoa, 2022's edition of the championships promises to be four days of non-stop high-octane futsal action.

Representative teams from universities throughout New Zealand – University of Auckland, AUT, Waikato University, Victoria University, Massey University, University of Canterbury and University of Otago – will compete for Tertiary Futsal supremacy at Canterbury’s new Mainpower Stadium in Rangiora. The 2022 National Tertiary Futsal Championships are made up of men’s and women’s single round robins, with women's competition to be decided by playoff on the fourth and final gameday (September 4th).

South Island sides dominated in the 2021 edition of the championships, where University of Canterbury claimed the women’s title, while the University of Otago took out the men’s. The 2020 competition was cancelled due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

All matches on court 1 from both the men’s and women’s tournaments will be livestreamed on the NZF YouTube channel. Subscribe now so you don't miss out on the action.
