Cup fever in store on finals day

Don’t miss your chance to be part of one of the highlights of the domestic football calendar when the finals of both the Football Foundation Kate Sheppard Cup and ISPS Handa Chatham Cup are held at QBE Stadium in Auckland on Sunday 9 September.

Entry for both games is just $10 (U-16 children free) and all tickets will be available at the gate on the day.

History could be made in the Football Foundation Kate Sheppard Cup final with Dunedin Technical looking to win the prestigious trophy for the first ever time while Forrest Hill Milford United are aiming for a second title in three years.

Fellow Auckland club Birkenhead United are looking to do the same in the ISPS Handa Chatham Cup final, having claimed their maiden title in 2016. Standing in the way are Western Suburbs from Wellington, who made back-to-back finals from 2006 and have lifted the cup twice.

While football fans in the City of Sails are likely to come out in their thousands, those living outside of the country’s largest city or others who can’t make it to QBE Stadium can take in the action from both matches live on SKY Sport.

“This is a very special day on the New Zealand Football calendar and we are looking forward to hosting a successful event at QBE Stadium,” says Daniel Farrow, Competitions and Events Director for New Zealand Football.

“Bringing the football community together to stage the finals of our two most prestigious national knockout competitions will be a fitting way to sign off on the winter season and build excitement ahead of an action-packed summer for both the men’s and women’s game.”
