Sport NZ Women and Girls Summit set for Wellington


New Zealand Football is pleased to support the Sport NZ Women and Girls Summit in Wellington.

The Summit, which will be held on Monday 7 October at Te Papa, the Museum of New Zealand, is an excellent Professional Development opportunity for girls and women in football.

Holly Nixon, the Women’s Development Manager for New Zealand Football, encouraged females who are involved in the game as players, coaches, referees, administrators or in governance to sign up for the Summit.

“We are committed to developing female leaders in football,” said Nixon.  “Your voices are important and are key to changing the status quo for the future of women’s football. Events like the Sport NZ Women and Girls Summit are critical for development and creating change.”

The Sport NZ Women and Girls Summit will be delivered by Women in Sport Aotearoa and the Shift Foundation.

The Summit is a one-day event for those working or contributing to play, active recreation and sport for women and girls.

It will feature expert contributions from keynote speakers and panellists on leadership, participation, value and visibility.  The Summit promises to be an empowering and interactive event.

There will be interactive sessions and panels to help girls and women in sport to co-design solutions to challenges they might be facing.

It will include opportunities to connect with others experiencing also passionate about this kaupapa and a chance to learn, be inspired, contribute and connect with other like-minded women.

New Zealand Football are providing 10 fully-funded opportunities for girls and women throughout the country to attend the summit.  Flights and full registration will be covered.
