Women’s Grand Final to be played on biggest ever stage for women’s club football

The women’s National League Championship Grand Final will be played on the biggest ever stage for women’s club football later this month at Tāmaki Makaurau Auckland’s Mt Smart Stadium.

The Grand Final (2pm on Sunday 18 December 2022) concludes the top tier women’s football competition in Aotearoa New Zealand and will see Eastern Suburbs play city rivals Western Springs for the National League Championship title.

The game will be held at the biggest venue for domestic women’s football since 2006 and in the same location as the men’s National League Championship Grand Final held on 4 December.

Kevin Forde, Competition and Events Director at New Zealand Football, is excited to see the final at one of Aotearoa’s leading stadiums:

“After a great first full National League Championship season, it is exciting to see the Grand Final at an iconic venue like Mt Smart Stadium.

“Eastern Suburbs and Western Springs have been the two stand out clubs in the league, so I think we are in for a brilliant final.

“I encourage all football fans in Auckland to come down for a great end to the 2022 season.”
