To celebrate the McDonald’s Junior Football season, New Zealand Football has created a series of McDonald’s Junior Football Activities Coaching Videos.

In recent time, football numbers have been growing consistently. There are more than 150,000 registered footballers in New Zealand and significant numbers in the junior space.
Since the introduction of the award-winning Whole of Football Plan in 2011, Sport NZ research tells us that 71 percent of boys and 52 percent of girls participate in football, while Junior and Youth participation has grown 34.6 percent and 49 percent respectively.
Prosser said the huge number of participants in football is due to the hard work and dedication of thousands of club volunteers who make the game happen each week.
“It was wonderful to see adults of all ages and experiences stepping forward again to provide activities and encouragement for junior footballers,” he said.
“McDonald’s have helped to improve the overall experience for volunteers and players involved, through supporting initiatives such as the newly released Coaching Videos. This will help not only retain existing participants, but also encourage new people to the game. We also have some exciting developments to come throughout the 2017 season to support and reward all involved.”
McDonald’s have proven to be a great partner for junior football. They have provided more than 50,000 Size 1 footballs to registered players, produced Skills Videos and delivered 20,000 coach’s handbooks over the past three years which have had a major impact on the game.
