New Zealand Football runs national football competitions for clubs franchises and federation teams.
The New Zealand Football Championship is New Zealand’s elite domestic men’s league and is contested by eight franchises who also enter their academy sides into the Lion Foundation Youth League. Both competitions are played over the summer months as is the federation-based Lion Foundation Women’s League, the top nation’s domestic women’s league.
In the traditional winter season, the storied and illustrious Chatham Cup, and it’s female equivalent the Women’s Knockout Cup offer clubs – who compete in local and cross-federation leagues the chance to pursue national success.
