AUCKLAND – One of the ASB Women’s Knockout Cup’s most successful teams will meet the current champions when Three Kings United face Glenfield Rovers in the quarterfinals on the weekend of June 16 and 17.

Three Kings have won the 19 year old competition three times and been losing finalist once, a pedigree second only to Lynn Avon United’s nine wins from 10 finals.

But their league form has been poor this season and Three Kings will need to rely on a Cup day lift to get past reigning champions Glenfield Rovers at McFettridge Park on Auckland’s North Shore.

In Hamilton, 2010 champions Claudelands Rovers, who currently lead the Northern League, have drawn Eastern Suburbs while Central League leaders Massey University host Seatoun at Memorial Park in Palmerston North.

Last year’s beaten finalist Coastal Spirit have home advantage in their bid to reach national draw for the semi finals, welcoming Football South leaders Roslyn Wakari to Christchurch.

The ASB Women’s Knockout Cup is played along federation lines until the semi finals in late July with the two best sides meeting in the final on August 26.
