New Zealand sports fans will get to see the next instalment of the world’s fastest growing indoor sport when highlights of series two of the ASB Futsal National League air on Sky TV next week.

AUCKLAND – New Zealand sports fans will get to see the next instalment of the world’s fastest growing indoor sport when highlights of series two of the ASB Futsal National League air on Sky TV next week.

From Monday, viewers can watch a highlights package from series two of the national league held recently at ASB Stadium in the Auckland suburb of Kohimarama.

Auckland’s AFF-East City Futsal extended their overall lead with a perfect five from five winning record on their home court.

New Zealand Football’s Futsal Development Manager Dave Payne was impressed with the standard of play on show during series two.

“Yet again the standard stepped up a gear with the matches impressing both from a technical point of view and for pure excitement. The underdogs have closed the gap since series one and pulled off some surprising results,” Payne said.

Mainland Futsal remain in second but Central Futsal Red Sox Manawatu surprised many by picking up enough points from series two to climb to third overall, ahead of Futsal South who had a disappointing weekend in Auckland after hosting series one in December.

Fifth placed Capital Futsal, who host series three in March, closed to one point of Futsal South with Hawke’s Bay and Northern propping up the table.
