All Whites striker Chris Wood has completed a loan move from West Bromwich Albion to Millwall with The Lions taking a view to making the switch permanent.

The former Waikato FC frontman netted a hat-trick against The Lions for Birmingham City at St Andrews last season, where he scored nine times in 23 outings.  He added a further three goals during another loan spell at Bristol after the new year.

Speaking to the Millwall's official website Wood sees this move to The Den as an important one in his career, having only turned out for the clubs U-21 side to date this season.

"I'm not in the first team picture at West Brom so I’m dying to start playing regular football again.

In January I will give some thought to my longer term future, but for now I'm just looking forward to playing for Millwall and hopefully scoring some goals."

Despite a lack of club action the 20-year-old striker is in a rich vein of form for the All Whites having scored seven goals in his last six internationals.

Wood's parent club WBA has the right to recall him to the Hawthorns after 28 days but he is expected to be named in the Millwall squad to face Cardiff City at The Den on Tuesday night (UK time).

Wood's OlyWhite teammate James Musa was an unused sub for Fulham in their goalless U-21 Premier League draw with Middlesbrough.
