Biography
Kirsty Yallop missed out on a place in the squad for the FIFA Women’s World Cup in 2007 due to a severe knee injury, but completed her comeback in time for the 2008 Olympic Games where she scored New Zealand’s first ever Olympic goal (against Japan in a 2-2 draw).
After making her senior debut in 2004, Yallop captained the New Zealand U-20 side to the 2006 U-20 World Cup in Russia, and in 2009 she achieved a childhood ambition of playing professional football when she signed to play in the Swedish Damallsvenskan.
Her favourite sports outside football are wakeboarding and rugby league and she holds a Bachelor of Sport (majoring in coaching).
