Hawkes Bay United have obtained the services of Andrew Blake from The Wellington Phoenix for the remainder of the season.

Blake, who has been brought in after the Wellington Phoenix signed Hamish Watson from Hawkes Bay United, is excited to become a part of the club heading into such a crucial part of the season.

“I’m excited to become a part of the club and help the club who are currently sitting third on the table we have a good chance of coming second.” Blake said.

“It will be the first finals football I’ve been in so I’m looking forward to the rest of the season with Hawkes Bay.”

Blake who was a part of the New Zealand U-20 FIFA World Cup squad here in New Zealand last year, will bring a different dynamic to Brett Angell’s squad.

“Very pleased to bring Andrew in after losing Hamish to a professional contract and to have Andrew see us as the team too come into and show his capabilities and hopefully we can help in the short time he will be with us.” Angell said.

“I’m sure he will add a lot of value to our group and our squad in what we are trying to achieve which is obviously playoff football.”
